New Videos: Solange – ‘Way To The Show’ & ‘Almeda’

Published: Thursday 7th Mar 2019 by Sam

Solange launched herself back into the glare and flare of the spotlight last week with the release of her new album ‘When I Get Home.’

The set, which follows 2016’s Grammy winning ‘A Seat At The Table,’ was paired with an accompanying performance film – released exclusively to Apple Music.

As the project aims to establish legs, videos for fan favorites ‘Way To The Show’ and ‘Almeda’ have been made more widely available.

Watch Solo in action after the jump…

Cool to see that two of the catchier cuts from the LP have received such a slick visuals.

The thing with Solange is that you have to find the message that she puts inherently into her lyrics. She is unapologetically black. The themes present as well showed her trying to exemplify the glory in our blackness as well as its resilience… “even in that Florida water” where an unarmed black man can be killed by a racist and the racist can get off. She shows how magestic and forgiving black people are and how nothing can taint our expression in that pride for being black no matter what society tries to paint blackness as.
